As if things couldn’t get worse for the big guy, none other than devout Trump sycophant and southern-friend MAGA lover, South Carolina’s Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, recently refused to commit to publicly throwing his endorsement behind scandal-ridden, disgraced, has-been ex-President Donald Trump for the 2024 presidency, as the former guy’s “very big announcement” looms.
Just ahead of the midterm election, we reported on the claims from inside sources that Donald Trump was preparing to finally, formally announce his official 2024 campaign for the presidency hot on the heels of what he thought would be a landslide win for the Republican Party. Following the brutal election, speculations swirled as to whether the losses would throw a wrench in Donald Trump’s candidacy announcement plans.
Ultimately, the former guy marched full steam ahead with his plans, in spite of all the humiliation. However, that doesn’t mean his “people” want anything to do with it.
Ahead of his announcement, the former president took to his struggling Truth Social platform with yet another teaser about the impending announcement, writing, “Hopefully TODAY will turn out to be one of the most important days in the history of our Country!”

But, the embarrassingly failed “Red Wave” — resulting in the GOP failing to reclaim the Senate and projections looking as though they’ll only reclaim the House by the skin of their teeth — the Conservative enthusiasm for Donald’s official, formal announcement is rapidly waning, as many among the Right-wing crowd lay the blame for the midterm failures at the feet of the former guy.
Trump, who was once the de facto leader of the GOP, is now struggling to hold his footing in his own Republican Party — as even some of his most loyal, most devout supporters and followers begin to breadcrumb or full-on hedge their support for a Trump 2024 term.
Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis spoke with Politico on the matter and said, “The question is: who is the current leader of the Republican Party? Oh, I know who it is: Ron DeSantis. Ron DeSantis is the leader of the Republican Party, whether he wants to be or not.”
Other Republican lawmakers have echoed that notion, with GOP Senator Shelley Moore Capito saying, “Looking forward is always a better campaign strategy. Looking back on 2020 obviously didn’t work out. We ought to look forward.”
But perhaps the worst of them all, for Trump anyway, has been South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham.
Graham has served as one of the Republican Party’s most devout Trump loyalists — save for a handful of months ahead of Donald’s 2020 presidential win and one red, hot second in the direct aftermath of the January 6th Capitol insurrection — yet, even Lindsey said with regard to Trump’s impending campaign announcement, “[L]et’s see what he says… I’ll tell you after Georgia.”
They’re done with you, Trump. And you know it…
