Scandal-plagued former president and now-official 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump just proved to the world once again that there’s really no low he won’t sink to, even when it comes to his own base of supporters if it means it will earn him a dime or two.
Now, is there even a snowball’s chance in Hell that Donald would miss out on the balloon-dropping, red, white, and blue patriotic ticker tape scattering, massive, attention-grabbing fanfare that is the final speech delivered by the GOP’s official presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention?
A snowball actually stands a better chance in Hell than there is of that ever happening.
For God’s sake, the man was quite literally just shot in the ear after someone tried to assassinate him over the weekend and was still jet-setting off to Milwaukee to join the Republican elites less than 48 hours later.

A literal shooting couldn’t keep him away.
But nevertheless, as the big guy apparently aches for more cash, the felony-convicted ex-president and his campaign fundraising team still pumped out a fundraising email this afternoon that appeared to attempt at an old-fashioned bait-and-switch against his own base of voters, when the headline of his email appeared to suggest that his biggest speech of the year could be canned.
“Canceling tomorrow’s speech?” read the subject line of a new email pumped out to MAGA supporters by Donald’s joint fundraising committee.
Of course, even Trump couldn’t carry that gag on for very long, as the body of the email immediately says, “I WOULD NEVER!”
“Tomorrow night, I will lay out my vision to UNITE OUR COUNTRY AND MAKE IT GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!” the email from Trump National Committee, which raises funds for both Donald J. Trump for President 2024, Inc. and the Republican National Committee, reads.
“We’ll cut taxes, end inflation, and PUT MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET!” the message continues. “We’ll end our humiliation overseas and bring HONOR back to our country.”
The email goes on to urge its readers to give “expert advice” on what Trump should say to unite the nation, linking to a fundraising page featuring a text box where people can put in suggestions (that we all know he will never see, much less read) for his big RNC acceptance speech.
Pre-filled donation suggestions on the page range from $24 up to $3,300.
Trump has been known to use these same bait-and-switch tactics on his supporters before, most notably right before the big Iowa Caucus, when his fundraising team blasted out a text message that read: “President Trump: Suspend my campaign?”
He pulled a similar stunt on New Hampshire’s primary election day, when he asked if he should “end my campaign” or “drop out of the race.”
All of these bait-and-switch fundraising tactics always quickly assure readers that Trump would “NEVER ABANDON” them.
