Today, for whatever reason, the Wall Street Journal decided to publish an op-ed penned by none other than the disgraced ex-president himself, Donald J. Trump. In the op-ed, Donnie is unsurprisingly harping his defense for his “Big Tech” lawsuit that he announced in a flashy press conference yesterday, in which he is alleging that tech giants Facebook, Google, and Twitter are violating his First Amendment rights by indefinitely banning him from their platforms as a result of him inciting the January 6th Capitol riot, perpetrated by his MAGA followers.
Trump’s op-ed, that we’re honestly not even sure he actually wrote all by himself, begins:
ne of the gravest threats to our democracy today is a powerful group of Big Tech corporations that have teamed up with government to censor the free speech of the American people. This is not only wrong—it is unconstitutional. To restore free speech for myself and for every American, I am suing Big Tech to stop it…”
“This coercion and coordination is unconstitutional,” the shameless ex-president goes on. “The Supreme Court has held that Congress can’t use private actors to achieve what the Constitution prohibits it from doing itself. In effect, Big Tech has been illegally deputized as the censorship arm of the U.S. government. This should alarm you no matter your political persuasion. It is unacceptable, unlawful, and un-American.”
As you’d expect, it didn’t take Twitter users long to bury not only the former president’s op-ed in mockery but the Wal Street Journal as well for even agreeing to publish this garbage:
Trump screams “I AM BEING CENSORED!” from the editorial page of a mainstream international media outlet.
Shame on you, @WSJ, shame on you, @WSJopinion. https://t.co/Kk8jRxk5At

The only thing more absurd than Donald Trump’s lawsuit against “Big Tech” on “free speech” grounds is the @WSJ expecting anyone to believe that Donny actually penned that op-ed himself.

And again, reminding me why I canceled my WSJ subscription

Of course they can censor me! I’m a person using their product for free! They are a private company! https://t.co/uSYXSgyuW4

“I’m being censored” writes man in a guest column reprinted in one of the world’s largest newspapers. “My viewpoints aren’t being heard” he complains after coming from a weekly in-person political rally. pic.twitter.com/eNApN7VY7X

“I’m being censored,” cries the former president in the 2nd widest circulated newspaper in America. Yup, that’s totally how censorship works. https://t.co/trZhkbBxhT

Someone do this guy a favor and tell him what censorship really means before he humiliates himself any worse than he already has.
