Suffice it to say, scandal-plagued former President Donald Trump has had a rough few weeks after Garland-appointed DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith dropped a thundering 37 felony criminal indictment against him in the infamous Mar-a-Lago stolen document investigation.
Smith, on behalf of the Biden DOJ, has been investigating the former president for his role in inciting the January 6th Capitol insurrection, his attempt to overthrow the 2020 presidential election after his loss to Joe Biden, and the infamous stolen Mar-a-Lago document scandal, in which Donald Trump stole classified government documents at the end of his presidency, relocated the material to his Palm Beach compound, where he hid them, lied about his possession of the materials, and repeatedly refused to comply with government requests and subpoenas for their return.
That investigation came to a fever pitch this week when the disgraced former president was formally arrested and arraigned on those 37 felonies, all related to obstruction and violations of the Espionage Act, in a Miami court.
As I’m sure we can all imagine, Trump has not handled this development well. At all.

The corrupt former president has been on what can only be described as a rage-filled bender for days now, nearly constantly airing out all of his grievances and narcissism-fueled anger over the brutal indictment lodged against him that could result in a punishment that adds up to the equivalent of a life sentence — all of which seemed to crescendo in a new attack video he posted to his Truth Social platform.
While the clip is relatively short, it’s a full 16 or so seconds of the deranged ex-president attacking Special Counsel Smith from every conceivable angle, before signing off with a bizarre conclusion, complete with this attack against President Joe Biden:
Crooked Joe Biden pressed deranged Jack Smith to do this fake indictment on me in order to take the pressure off the fact that they caught Joe Biden stealing $5 million.
And that’s just the beginning.
Thank you very much.”
Trump’s claim that President Biden is “having me arrested” is far from a new one these days, despite the fact that countless fact-checkers, reporters, and journalists have repeatedly pointed out that the Department of Justice is a United States entity separate, removed from, and independent of the White House — meaning the president has no control over what they do.
Mediaite reached out to White House counsel spokesman Ian Sams regarding the charges, who told the publication, “Everything in their so-called investigation seems to be mysteriously missing: informants, audio tapes, and most importantly of all – any credible evidence. Maybe it’s time for House Republicans to join the President to focus on real issues that matter to the American people like fighting inflation and creating jobs instead of these sad sideshow stunts.”
