While it’s pretty clear that Donald Trump probably won’t be writing any books anytime soon, considering he’s a pariah among publishers these days, that certainly doesn’t mean that others won’t be writing plenty of books about him.

Ex-president Trump has been the subject of many a tell-all book throughout his term in the White House as well as his time post-presidency — most of which haven’t been all that flattering to America’s form of a dictator.

And now, according to a new report, the “former guy” has been spending his days here lately at his Mar-a-Lago club, serving a parade of journalists Diet Coke and entertaining sit-down interviews in an effort to get ahead of the less-than-flattering books that are pouring out against him.

The revelation came from Axios co-founder Mike Allen during an appearance on MSNBC with host Kasie Hunt. Allen claimed that he has obtained a list of 22 different interviews that the disgraced ex-president has indulged in recent weeks, with some of the authors of these books allegedly returning to Trump’s golf club for multiple visits.

“He’s given 22 interviews to book authors, several people double-dipped,” Allen revealed. “He spent an hour and a half, two hours, [and] some of the people are then invited to stay and have dinner at Mar-a-Lago, and why it matters, President Trump, who’s said very little, besides to conservative outlets, knows he’s going to be everywhere. This rush of Trump books that will start in July, and he wants his voice out there.”

Apparently, Trump hasn’t actually given the authors much tangible information to work with, but he’s turning up the charm all the same in what Allen believes is an effort to somehow get ahead of the potentially damning information that will likely be contained in these new books.

“I’ve talked to people familiar with the interviews — I’m going to shock you, I’m glad you’re sitting down, spoiler — the president doesn’t leak revelations,” Allen explained. “There’s a lot of spin and long-winded conversation, but he’s back in his salesman mode. He’s trying to work the refs with these books, in full suit and tie, serves Diet Coke, gives everybody a dish. A lot of the authors are getting the same dish, they think they have a scoop, but it turns out lots of people may have the same scoop.”
