Trump Said He Had No Idea "How Important A President Is"

Look, we all know that former President Donald Trump is pretty much as idiotic as they come. But sometimes, the guy flat out admits it himself.

The disgraced ex-president sat down for an “exclusive interview” with Fox News’s Sean Hannity late last night and, frankly, it was every bit the absolute disaster we thought it would be — from a completely unfactual timeline on the Taliban to his extra fluffy cotton candy hair.

But in the midst of that interview, the dude actually admitted that he never really knew how important the president actually is — despite the fact that he literally was one — stating that he was under the expectation that state officials would be running the country instead.

Speaking to Hannity last night, Trump said, “We need a president that’s respected. I have never realized how important, frankly – and it is a horrible thing to say – how important a president, the head of this country is. I thought it would maybe run through bureaucracy, it doesn’t. You need somebody up there that they are going to respect.”

Of course, Trump’s statement about the importance of the United States president came on the heels of a nasty attack against president Joe Biden for the way he has handled the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan after the Taliban overthrew the country’s government in just a few short days after the withdraw of US troops — a move that hailed from the Trump administration that Biden merely followed through on.

Trump went on to call Biden’s behavior surrounding the situation “the greatest embarrassment in the history of our country” — again, despite the fact that Trump is the one who signed the deal to have all US troops withdrawn from Afghanistan back in February of 2020.

In spite of the fact that he didn’t and clearly still does not understand how the US presidency actually works, Trump still hinted during the interview that he would be taking a third stab at the White House.
