Trump Sparks Concern After Clenching World Leader’s Arm While Climbing Just One Step

A rough look at 80

The G7 group photo in Evian required world leaders to step up onto a platform. It was not exactly a difficult obstacle. The platform was only a single step high, and every leader in attendance appeared to make it up without any trouble. Donald Trump, however, reached for Narendra Modi’s arm as he made his way up.

Video of the moment, captured Tuesday and shared widely online, shows Trump gripping the Indian prime minister’s arm while stepping onto the platform. He appeared unsteady before regaining his balance, while Modi looked prepared to help if needed. Trump held onto him for several seconds before taking his position for the photo.

The footage arrived only two days after Trump’s 80th birthday and quickly became part of a discussion that had already been building online.

The clip also landed in the middle of a week filled with similar observations. At Sunday’s UFC event, viewers noticed what they believed was an unusual difference in the way Trump’s arms moved during his walk from the Oval Office to the Blue Room Balcony.

“Why is his left arm swinging all over the place but his right arm hardly moving?” one X user wrote.

“Trump totally dragging the whole right side of his body along,” another added.

The White House did not respond to either observation.

The focus has not been limited to his walk. Throughout the G7 summit, close-up images of Trump’s hands have generated a steady stream of commentary online, with some users becoming fixated on their appearance.

“It looks like they added a mannequin hand onto him!” one person posted.

Another focused on one finger in particular: “OMG. What is wrong with his pointing finger? It looks like it’s about to fall off his hand.”

Others wondered how the injury happened in the first place.

“Trump doesn’t do any physical labor. How did he get a wound like this?” one user asked.

The administration’s explanation remains the same as it was in Trump’s May 29 medical report. According to the White House, the discoloration is the result of frequent handshaking combined with high-dose aspirin used for cardiovascular prevention.

That explanation, however, has not answered every question being raised.
