Trump Team Brutally Schooled By Federal Judge In Overnight Ruling, Smacked Down Ex-President’s Emergency Request To Block More Documents

She was having no part of that.

Donald Trump and his team of attorneys have made their desperation crystal clear when it comes to blocking a variety of documents from reaching the House select committee that’s currently neck-deep in their investigation of the infamous January 6th Capitol riot.

But one federal judge made it crystal clear last night that she doesn’t really give a damn about Trump’s or his lawyers’ distress when it comes to all that information.

Last night, it seems Donald’s team of lawyers sent over an emergency request on behalf of the ex-president, calling on federal Judge Tanya Chutkan to block the National Archives from turning over a pile of sensitive documents to the House select committee as part of their January 6th investigation.

Not only did the Honorable Judge Chutkan quickly smack down their desperate request, she also gave the Trump legal team a thorough schooling on basic courtroom procedures, according to a new report from CNN.

“Federal Rule of Civil Procedure allows temporary injunctive relief [w]hile an appeal is pending from an interlocutory order or final judgment,” Judge Chutkan responded to Trump and his team, just after midnight. “This court has not yet entered any such interlocutory order or final judgment and thus a request for relief under Rule 62(d), which plainly requires an interlocutory order of final judgment before considering such motions, is premature.”

One of the twice-impeached, one-term ex-president’s lawyers, Jesse Binnall, had requested that the federal judge approve the “administrative stay” of her own ruling before she officially issued it. This would allow Trump to appeal Chutkan’s decision before the National Archives began to hand over the documents requested by the House select committee. Binnall went on to warn Judge Chutkan that he would call on an appeals court to intervene if she hadn’t completed her ruling by Wednesday.
