Donald Trump has gone back to taunting Barack Obama.

The funeral of former President Jimmy Carter last week was one of those rare instances in which all living presidents were together in the same room. It gave longtime political observers a chance to marvel at all of the former presidents, vice presidents, and first ladies sitting within the National Cathedralโ€™s first two rows and their complex histories with one another.

One particular moment saw former presidents and longtime enemies, Barack Obama and Donald Trump not only sitting next to each other, but appearing to enjoy an animated conversation prior to the start of the funeral. Trump, later that day, even said at a press conference โ€œI didnโ€™t realize how friendly it looked,โ€ and โ€œBoy, they look like two people that like each other. And we probably do.โ€

To some, it was a heartwarming moment of longtime rivals getting along on a solemn occasion, while for others, it was an indication that Obama wasnโ€™t all that serious about Trump being a threat to democracy.

Alas, it doesnโ€™t appear that the moment of reconciliation is one that lasted.

Over the weekend, on Truth Social, Trump shared a comical video featuring impressionists doing Trump and Obamaโ€™s voices during the pre-funeral discussion. In the video, Obama tells Trump that he knew heโ€™d win, and that, of Joe Biden, โ€œdo you know what happened? He just didnโ€™t wanna leave.โ€ โ€œObamaโ€ also says of Kamala Harris โ€” who was sitting in the row in front of them โ€” โ€œI did what I could to help her- she was horrendous.โ€

Also in the video, โ€œTrumpโ€ says of Hillary Clinton, โ€œYou know what I realized? Hillary still hates me; I know sheโ€™ll never forgive me,โ€ before he and โ€œObamaโ€ discuss the possibility of playing golf together.

The parody video doesnโ€™t match what a New York Post lip-reading analystโ€™s interpretation of the conversation, which had Obama trying to discuss an urgent matter with Trump at a later time.

โ€œI canโ€™t talk, we have to find a quiet place sometime. This is a matter of importance and we need to do this outside so that we can deal with it, certainly, today,โ€ Trump โ€œsaidโ€ during the pre-funeral discussion, per the lip-readerโ€™s interpretration.

At any rate, if anyone was under the impression that Donald Trump and Barack Obama will from this day forward be friends, it appears thatโ€™s not the case.
