Trump Was Nearly Two Hours Late For His "History Tour" Rally, Tried To Blame It On Closed Airport Amid Bad Weather, But Airport Websites Seemingly Show No Signs Of Closures

It seems Donald Trump has been busted in yet another lie — after he showed up to the recent leg of his “History Tour” with Bill O’Reilly nearly two hours late and seemingly tried to blame his tardiness on a closed airport due to bad weather. But the airport’s website appears to show that’s a lie.

The washed-up duo recently held an event for their big “History Tour” in Houston, TX — and local publication, The Houston Chronicle, reports that it didn’t go so well. According to the report, turnout was relatively low for the event, and the ex-president (in true Trump fashion) was nearly two hours late for his own rally.

The Trump/O’Reilly mashup event was slated to start at 3 pm, but according to the local newspaper, the former president didn’t show up until nearly 2 hours later. O’Reilly told the audience that Trump was delayed by inclement weather. Trump himself released a message through his spokeswoman, Liz Harrington, seemingly claiming that the airport was closed due to the weather, ultimately causing him to be late to the event.

“Airport opened, landing now,” Trump says in the statement, in which he tries to explain/excuse away his tardiness, going on to promise the audience an “extra special performance.”

However, a quick look at airport websites shows that there was no notice stating that Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport or the William P. Lobby Airport were closed at all on Saturday, much less around the time of Trump’s rally.

Trump is notorious for being late to his own speaking events — leaving his supporters waiting in all sorts of nasty weather and conditions on numerous occasions throughout his presidency, as he habitually showed up to his rallies on his own time.

However, the “History Tour” is a little different than Trump’s old MAGA rallies, as people were paying a pretty penny to get in on the event. And it seems that he’s just flat out lying to their faces about why he’s wasting their time.
