As if life for Trump wasn’t bad enough as it is, a new report from Mediaite now reveals that Ali Alexander has agreed to cooperate with the United States Justice Department’s ongoing investigation into the infamous, violent Capitol attack and, more specifically, Donald Trump’s possible role in it. Why is this especially bad news for Trump, you may be asking? Because Ali Alexander is a well-known Right-wing activist and served as the organizer of Donald Trump’s notorious “Stop the Steal” rally that took place right outside the Capitol building, just mere hours before that same crowd of his supporters would go on to violently storm and siege the government building with the whole of Congress and the United States Vice President inside. The very same “Stop the Steal” rally that many people believe was at least partially responsible for inciting the mob’s actions on that fateful day.

Alexander was responsible for planning and organizing multiple rallies on the heels of Donald Trump’s November election loss, including the infamous rally that helped incite the brutal Capitol attack, and now he has reportedly agreed to appear and testify before a grand jury in the Justice Department’s criminal investigation into the infamous, violent insurrection.

Ali Alexander, a prominent organizer of pro-Trump events after the 2020 election, has agreed to cooperate with the Justice Department’s investigation of the attack on the Capitol last year, the first high-profile political figure known to have offered assistance to the government’s newly expanded criminal inquiry.

Speaking through a lawyer, Mr. Alexander said on Friday that he had recently received a subpoena from a federal grand jury that is seeking information on several broad categories of people connected to pro-Trump rallies that took place in Washington after the election.

In a statement from the lawyer, Mr. Alexander said he was taking “a cooperative posture” with the Justice Department’s investigation but did not know what useful information he could give. He also disavowed anyone who took part in or planned violence on Jan. 6.

While it remains unclear what Mr. Alexander might tell the grand jury, he was intimately involved in the sprawling effort to mount political protests challenging the results of the election, and had contacts with other organizers, extremist groups, members of Congress and, according to the House committee investigating Jan. 6, White House officials during the period after Election Day.”

Alexander’s cooperation with the United States Department of Justice comes after he had already given a deposition on the rally and his knowledge of the Capitol attack to the January 6th House Select Committee that is also investigating the Capitol siege and Donald Trump’s role in it.

President Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland has undeniably been under increased pressure from Americans and lawmakers to strengthen his investigation into the former president. Last week, Garland responded to his critics, saying to reporters, “the only pressure I feel, and the only pressure that our line prosecutors feel, is to do the right thing. That means we follow the facts and the law wherever they may lead.”
