Unsurprisingly, the fuck your feelings crowd is having a lot of feelings after Donald Trump got his arse whooped in both the electoral and popular vote. Outgoing vice president Mike Pence arrived on Capitol Hill early this afternoon to preside over Congress’s joint session to formalize President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over Trump. And Pence is not going to back Trump’s attempted coup even as some Republicans are objecting to the electoral results.
Donald Trump addressed a crowd of supporters that are protesting against the election results today and said, “We’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Ave … and we’re going to [try] to give our Republicans — the weak ones because the strong ones don’t need any of our help — we’re to try and get the kind of pride and boldness they need to take back our country.”
And, oh boy, they sure did. The supposed supporters of “law and order” just broke down barricades, and they’re storming Capitol hill.

This is incredible to watch as our democracy is being torn to shreds by a narcissistic president. The blue lives matter crowd is physically confronting the police.

As Senator Ted Cruz cities polling that many Americans (the majority of them Republicans) believe the election was “rigged,” Trump supporters are literally tearing down barriers at the Capitol and attacking police officers.

Well, that escalated quickly and highlights why counter-protesters need to stay far away from this hot mess. This massive attempt to storm the Capitol was encouraged by the impeached, outgoing president that refuses to allow a peaceful transition of power. And no matter how much Trump supporters cry and stomp their feet, President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in on January 20th. It wasn’t just the president that allowed this to happen: the responsibility is also on the shoulders of every Republican that is objecting to the results of a legitimate presidential election.
And all of this is happening to feed a man’s massive but fragile ego. And unfortunately, this will likely get worse.
