After a wink and a nod from Donald Trump, supporters of the outgoing president stormed the U.S. Capitol in protest of the former reality show star losing to Joe Biden in both the electoral and popular vote. Trump supporters have been physically confronting the police, and flashbangs have been heard outside. Trump supporters are trying to stop the Constitutional process of counting the electors as some Republican lawmakers and Senators have objected to the election results. And make no mistake about it, Donald Trump could stop this violent outbreak, but he’s enjoying the display of attempted sedition.
Vice president Mike Pence has signaled that he will perform his duties to preside over the Senate and is not going to take part in the president’s attempted coup. So now, Pence has been escorted off the grounds.
BREAKING: @VP Pence was just quickly escorted out. US Capitol is on lockdown, Senate sources tell me.

The responsibility for this violent outburst lies with Republicans, too.
As Senator Ted Cruz cities polling that many Americans (the majority of them Republicans) believe the election was “rigged,” Trump supporters are literally tearing down barriers at the Capitol and attacking police officers.

What a hot mess.
A protester who broke into the U.S. Capitol Hill tells @LisaDNews that he did it because it’s time to rise up against the government and likened these protesters breaching security to 1776. It’s unclear what happens next but the White House is saying nothing as of this hour.

Trump is busy on Twitter lashing out at Pence.
Pres Trump is lashing out at VP Pence who literally had to be whisked away from the Senate chamber because people believing Trump’s conspiracy theories have broken into the Capitol.
The security of our federal govt has been breached & Trump isn’t saying anything about that. https://t.co/IoUshbicZ3

Trump just tweeted this, and he has not told his supporters to vacate the area.
Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!

This was a totally predictable situation after the outgoing president just suffered from a massive and public narcissistic injury. The police need to start making arrests.
