Melania didn’t move into the White House until June 2017, five months after Donald Trump became president. She says the Obamas’ team didn’t respond to her requests to visit the White House for weeks. “Despite reaching out to the Obamas’ team and requesting a convenient time for our visit, we did not receive a response for weeks,” she writes in her book. She also mentioned that when she finally got the information, it was full of mistakes.
While this sounds like a major issue in her story, White House transitions are never perfect. The change from one president to another comes with its own set of challenges, but it’s not something new. Other First Families have faced similar situations without making a fuss. When Michelle Obama moved into the White House, she also made changes, but she didn’t go around blaming anyone for making her life difficult. She quietly did her part, unlike Melania, who seems to have made a big deal about her move-in process.
In her book, Melania talks a lot about the renovations she made to the White House. She even mentions the Rose Garden and how she updated it. “While some first families are content to simply live in the historic residence, my approach was different,” she writes. But many are quick to note that other First Ladies, like Laura Bush and Michelle Obama, also made changes. They just didn’t make it seem as dramatic.
Many people are not happy about Melania’s book. One person, @MAJDemoCats1, tweeted, “Kind of a dumb move of her to publish this book. The more we learn, the more there is to dislike. She was better off as an enigma. Whiny and entitled. I’m so over the Trumps.” Another critic, Danni (@wyo2step), said, “Melania is just like Trump, an entitled whiny ass white bitch always playing the victim card.” Mrs. Betty Bowers (@BettyBowers) added, “You want to hear something really rude? Melania didn’t even welcome the Bidens to the White House, a shocking breach of American history and etiquette. The Trumps are trash.”

Um.
Trump refused to cooperate with the Biden transition team, leaving them fully in the dark on national security issues and our country at risk.
First time ever a President did this.
But “Barron’s room.”

The bigger issue here might be Melania’s delay in moving into the White House. If her main focus was to get everything ready for her family, why wait until June? Other First Families, like the Obamas, moved in much sooner after the inauguration without causing any delays. Could it be that Melania’s delay had more to do with personal reasons rather than the Obamas’ supposed neglect?
Donald Trump himself has a long history of accusing others when things don’t go his way. Whether it’s the media, Democrats, or even former presidents like Obama, Trump has always looked for someone to blame. It seems that Melania is following a similar pattern with her complaints about the White House move.
As history shows, when faced with difficulties, great leaders adjust and adapt. It seems like the Trump family prefers to blame others instead.
