Trump Just Publicly And Proudly Congratulated Kyle Rittenhouse, Fundraising On Not-Guilty Verdict, And It’s Making Us Sick: “If That’s Not Self Defense, Nothing Is!”

What an ass.

Republicans have been hero-worshipping Kyle Rittenhouse, the Kenosha shooter who was acquitted Friday of first-degree intentional homicide and four other felony charges. President Joe Biden responded to the acquittal, saying, “Look, I stand by what the jury has concluded. The jury system works, and we have to abide by it.”

Trump released a statement tweeted out by his spokesperson Liz Harrington to circumvent his ban on the behemoth social site, then promptly sent out a fundraising email from Trump’s Save America PAC to bring in donations following the verdict.

“Congratulations to Kyle Rittenhouse for being found INNOCENT of all charges,” Trump said in a statement. “It’s called being found NOT GUILTY—And by the way, if that’ not self defense, nothing is!”

You can see the statement below:

His email’s subject line read, “GREAT NEWS FOR KYLE RITTENHOUSE” in all Republican caps.

“This trial was nothing more than a WITCH HUNT from the Radical Left. They want to PUNISH law-abiding citizens, including a CHILD, like Kyle Rittenhouse, for doing nothing more than following the LAW,” the email states. “Biden and his cronies are trying to DESTROY all the great progress we made under President Trump’s administration, but TODAY, THIS CASE has shown them that America is a Nation of LAW AND ORDER. Let us be clear, Friend, we cannot allow the Democrats to RUIN all of our great progress. That’s why President Trump is calling on YOU to step up and STAND WITH US. President Trump wants a list of EVERY Patriot who contributes to this email in the NEXT HOUR.”

Oh, speaking of law and order, the twice-impeached one-term president incited the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection, but he thinks the rules don’t apply to him. And even with Twitter, he’s trying to evade his ban by releasing statements through his spokesperson’s account. Trump thinks law and order only apply to his perceived enemies. As for his statement, a wise man once said it is ‘Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.’
