Life just got a little worse for Donald Trump, his family, and his Republican party as the House Select Committee that’s currently neck-deep in its mounting investigation into the infamous January 6th Capitol riot has issued three more subpoenas — none of which are going to make the one-term, twice-impeached former guy very happy.

Among those that found themselves on the receiving end of what I can only imagine has become the much-dreaded House Select Committee subpoena were two separate close advisers to the former president’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr., Andy Surabian and Arthur Schwartz, and one former Trump White House official, Ross Worthington, who had a personal hand in crafting the ex-President’s infamous January 6th speech.

POLITICO reports that the committee’s subpoenas to the two Don Jr. advisers were “an indication that they’re inching ever closer to the Trump family.”

“The younger Trump has been the source of recent revelations from the committee for pleading with his father amid the violence on Jan. 6 to issue a public denouncement of the rioters,” the POLITICO report reads. “Trump Jr. lamented that his father’s earlier statements were insufficient to quell the violence and sought a firmer effort.”

The trio is required to submit the requested documents by Jan. 24 and appear for depositions between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2, per the subpoenas issued by the committee.

The Chair of the House Select Committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson, released a statement on the new development surrounding the recent burst of subpoenas, saying, “The Select Committee is seeking information from individuals who were involved with the rally at the Ellipse. Protests on that day escalated into an attack on our democracy. Protestors became rioters who carried out a violent attempt to derail the peaceful transfer of power.”

You can find the subpoena for Arthur Schwartz here, Andy Surabian here, and Ross Worthington here.
