This year has been hard — pretty much the hardest that I can remember in my own lifetime. This pandemic has quite literally rocked this nation to its core in more ways than we could have ever imagined. So many people have had their lives turned upside down — whether it be from losing their job, homeschooling their kids, quarantining all alone away from their family and friends, coming down with the potentially-deadly virus themselves, or losing a family member, friend, or loved on to this cruel illness.
Millions of us have struggled to pay the rent, keep the lights on, put food on the table, and the holidays that are now upon us have only made a bad situation that much worse as the weight of society’s Christmas-time standards crush what little life and happiness was left in us. Not only could so many of us not afford your typical, American Christmas celebration, but a lot of us also spent the holidays alone, desperately trying to protect our family and friends from a pandemic that’s been allowed to run virtually unchecked through this country — and all with little more than a one-time $1200 check from the government and a “president” that’s more concerned about the election he’s lost a dozen times over than the people he’s fighting to keep control over.
To say the very least, we are bitter and we are tired. And we are not here for the Trump family’s habit of rubbing their “good fortune” in our faces.
So, when a video of Don Jr’s Christmas celebration began to circulate on social media, featuring what appeared to be a less-than-humble brag about their piles of presents and happiness, it came as no surprise when social media ripped him a new one.
Check out the video:
Don Jr. is the human form of tone deaf. Wait for the end. pic.twitter.com/3NSykkU7mG

See what I mean?
Twitter took him to task:
He thinks (I use the term loosely) that he’s highlighting himself as a wonderful family man. Clueless about the millions of people struggling to feed their families. It’s truly grotesque to witness. Where is their humanity?

All I could think of is the children in cages who, for some, don’t even have their parents with them. never mind a gift or two to open. #donjrisanasshat

This video is an INSULT to the millions of children who didn’t get anything this year because of the CHEAP GOP. THIS IS SHAMEFUL!!!!!!

Wonder if the Hispanic voice saying, “Mira Mira!” is an undocumented worker? Another obscene display of conspicuous consumption by Don Jr and family while millions of families in America don’t have enough money to buy groceries or pay rent.

Why post this disgraceful, tone deaf shit? God, don’t let my rolled eyes bulge outta my head. Heartbreaking! I pray for all who had no CHRISTMAS! 😢😭😭

How humble of them to post children opening presents when so many can’t even feed their families let alone buy gifts.

There is something so greatly disturbing in this performance. It’s distasteful and obscene. It’s intentionally over the to and opposite to what millions of children are experiencing. I find this family utterly putrefying.

Food lines are longer than they’ve ever been, the United States has over 300,000 COVID-19 deaths and counting… But Junior’s rampant consumerism is better than ever, folks. Don’t you feel better?
Yea. Me either.
