We reported that Donald Trump’s post-presidency plans to reside in Mar-a-Lago with his family weren’t well-received with the residents there. Still, now, several of his neighbors in the plush Florida community are taking legal action to bar the former reality show star from residing there.
The neighbors delivered a demand letter to the town authorities of Palm Beach, addressed to the US Secret Service, which said that Trump lost his legal right to permanently live at Mar-a-Lago due to an agreement that he signed in 1993 when he turned his private residence to a private club, the Washington Post reports.
Palm Beach made Trump sign the agreement that states that no club member could stay at Mar-a-Lago more than 21 days a year or seven consecutive days, among other restrictions. Donald’s attorney promised at the time that Trump would not live at Mar-a-Lago.
In the demand letter, obtained by The Washington Post, an attorney for the Mar-a-Lago neighbors says the town should notify Trump that he cannot use Mar-a-Lago as his residence. Making that move would “avoid an embarrassing situation” if the outgoing president moves to the club and later has to be ordered to leave, according to the letter sent on behalf of the neighbors, the DeMoss family, which runs an international missionary foundation.

And that’s a shame because the outgoing First Lady reportedly “just wants to go home,” but the Trumps abandoned New York City for Florida, and Melania is looking at schools in the Palm Beach area for the couple’s teenage son. New Yorkers despise Trump, and now, apparently, so do some of his neighbors in Palm Beach. It sounds like Trump is a victim of his own actions.
Americans evicted Trump from the White House, and now he’s a man without a legal home to go to. Trump’s legacy will be the three hundred and thirty thousand Americans that died on his watch while he took to Twitter to list his grievances. Trump signed away his ability to live in Mar-a-Lago in 1993, and that is the chef’s kiss for the end of his godawful presidency. Maybe karma is a thing, after all. And no one deserves to be shunned by society more than Donald J. Trump.
