This is getting a bit weird...

On Tuesday of this week, we reported on the news from AL.com that ex-President Donald Trump’s upcoming American Freedom Tour rally that was previously scheduled for June 18th in Birmingham, Alabama had been abruptly canceled and rescheduled for July 9th, when it would be relocated to Mobile, Alabama.

An email from the American Freedom Tour, explaining the sudden changes, read, “Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have been forced to postpone the event in Birmingham, Alabama. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. On June 18th, instead of Birmingham, we will be in Northern Mississippi, outside of Memphis. Also, we are expecting to be in Mobile, Alabama on July 9th.”

But now, according to a new report from AL.com, the people who are responsible for organizing the former president’s rallies have now announced that the Alabama rally, previously rescheduled and relocated to somewhere in Mobile, have now canceled the event altogether — just 48 hours after their original announcement.

A new email from the American Freedom Tour now reads, “Sorry President Trump will not be in Mobile Alabama,” going on to add that organizers of the rally are “planning a country-wide tour and will be announcing dates as they become available.”

AL.com reports, “The Trump rally in Mobile was scheduled on Tuesday, the same day that the American Freedom Tour announced the ex-president’s rally in Birmingham — set for June 18 — had been canceled. But a site for a rescheduled rally in Mobile was not disclosed. A city spokesman also said that Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson’s office has not been notified about any future Trump rally.”

At the time of the original rescheduling, Paul Gattis with the local publication pointed out the seemingly convenient timing of Trump’s sudden change in plans, noting the abrupt cancellations “would seem to strongly suggest no Trump endorsement” for neither Mike Durant nor Katie Britt in the Alabama Senate race.

However, AL.com notes in their newest report, “Trump appearance in Alabama could still take place ahead of the May 24 primary. Trump last month withdrew his endorsement of U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks in Alabama’s GOP Senate primary and has yet to announce another endorsement, though he said one would be forthcoming.”

Is it just me, or are things getting a little fishy?
