Regime Change, the new Haberman and Swan book, spent considerable space this week documenting Natalie Harp’s unusually close relationship with the president. On Saturday, as if to confirm every word of it, Trump arrived at his Virginia golf club with Harp by his side.
The dining room applauded as he walked in. He shook hands, took a seat at a table and Harp settled in next to him, wearing a bright blue minidress, white sneakers and a baseball cap. On the way in, someone in the crowd had shouted “Make Lebanon Great Again,” to which Trump replied: “Yes, I will.” Another voice added: “And America, too.”

The replies underneath the golf club footage went in several directions at once.
Sounds like Natalie Harp is hospice care for Trump.

I hate to say this, but Trump looks way out of shape as he was just checked out by his doctors who gave him a glowing review. Am I missing something?

The book driving all of this commentary is Regime Change by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, published Tuesday, which painted a specific picture of what Harp actually does in Trump’s orbit.
“Harp was generally on a chair off to the side, her laptop open, head cocked, listening but never contributing unless ordered to by Trump,” the authors wrote. “She fulfilled, in a flash, any request, whether a ‘Trump 2028’ that needed to be fetched from the merchandise room, a quick Google search, or producing the latest story from right-wing websites like Breitbart or Gateway Pundit.” The book also reported that Trump used Harp to overrule Cabinet officials when he wanted trade figures that better matched his preferred version of reality.
Daily Beast executive editor Hugh Dougherty offered the clearest description of Harp’s function on the podcast: “She is fueling his delusions: she is providing him with endless praise that she prints out off random social media, and then it’s all being put out in public, and she is with him ’round the clock.”
