New York Times correspondent, CNN analyst, and so-called “Trump Whisperer” Maggie Haberman has taken the political publishing world by storm in recent weeks, with the release of her explosive new tell-all book, Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America.

But it seems Haberman may soon be given a real run for her money by none other than the renowned, legendary investigative journalist and author Bob Woodward — who came to fame through his ferocious reporting on the infamous Nixon Watergate scandal and again over his reporting on now-former President Donald Trump — as reports now reveal that Woodward is gearing up to release a bombshell new audiobook that is set to feature a staggering eight-plus hours of audio recordings with the now-scandal-ridden former president.

And according to thundering new reporting today, CNN managed to wrangle an exclusive listen of the goods.

CNN’s new report from Jamie Gangel, Elizabeth Stuart, and Jeremy Herb highlights the stiff competition Haberman and her book may soon face from Woodward’s upcoming bombshell, The Trump Tapes:

Trump’s take on his relationship with Kim – and his admission that he didn’t have a broader strategy behind the threats he made about having a ‘much bigger’ nuclear button – are part of a new audiobook that Woodward is releasing. Titled, ‘The Trump Tapes,’ the book contains the 20 interviews Woodward conducted with Trump from 2016 through 2020.

CNN obtained a copy of the audiobook ahead of its October 25 release, which includes more than eight hours of the journalist’s raw interviews with Trump interspersed with Woodward’s commentary.

The interviews offer unvarnished insights into the former president’s worldview and are the most extensive recordings of Trump speaking about his presidency — including explaining his rationale for meeting Kim, his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Trump’s detailed views of the US nuclear arsenal. The audio also shows how Trump decided to share with Woodward the letters Kim wrote to him – the letters that helped spark the DOJ investigation into classified documents Trump took to Mar-a-Lago.”

Coincidentally, those are the same letters that have managed to earn Haberman some backlash among critics who feel that the Times correspondent should have reported on some of the more thundering information she gathered for her book, as the revelations came to light, instead of hanging onto the bombshell information for the pages of her tell-all. Some critics have even gone so far as to falsely claim that Haberman committed a felony offense in her decision to withhold the information and not report on Trump’s possession of the Kim letters right away.

Woodward’s The Trump Tapes reportedly hails from interviews the investigative journalist conducted with Donald Trump as far back as 2016 and as recently as 2020.
