People are suffering from Trump-fatigue over the thin-skinned “president’s” tweets and calls during rallies deeming anything written that’s critical of him to be “fake news.” Trump’s schtick is getting old. So, when Trump launched a tweet to attack Chris Wallace, Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network host Neil Cavuto defended his colleague during his “Common Sense” segment on “Your World.”

Cavuto criticized the “president’s” juvenile tweet reacting to Wallace’s Fox News Sunday interview with Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and used his show to point out that Trump didn’t like Wallace’s interview because the host challenged the Louisiana Republican. And that’s what his job is about.

“My colleague Chris Wallace has discovered again the president doesn’t distinguish, apparently furious over Chris’s interview this past weekend with House Minority Whip Steve Scalise,” Cavuto said. “Scalise has steadfastly defended the president on this whole Ukrainian situation. The president likes Steve for that. Let’s just say he doesn’t like Chris for challenging Scalise Sunday.”

Cavuto went on to say that he has been described as a “Never Trumper” and also blasted by the “Never Trump” movement.

“We can’t please all. The best we could do as journalists is to be fair to all, including you, Mr. President,” Cavuto said. “That’s not fake doing that. What is fake is not doing that. What is fake is saying Fox never used to do that. Mr. President, we have always done that. We did. Chris did. I know I did.”

Watch:

Cavuto then recalled an interview in October 2015 that he conducted with then-candidate Donald Trump. He said that later, Trump called him “nasty.”

“Many agree with you now. Some go so far as to say I’m fat and clueless,” Cavuto said jokingly. “Mr. President, now imagine anyone calling me fat? But journalists, no matter their weight, aren’t entitled to praise you. We are obligated to question you and always be fair to you. We will, even if it risks inviting your wrath.”

“Like I said, you are free to rage,” Cavuto continued. “All we are free to do is report and let the viewers decide.”

I think what Mr. Cavuto is saying in the nicest possible terms is that Trump should grow the fuck up. Trump’s approval rating continues to plummet. Maybe he should come up with new material instead of boring the shit out of the rest of us who aren’t buying what he’s selling.

Trump launched a war on the free press, then he lashes out if media figures don’t cower to him. Trump did the same with the Intelligence community and that’s not working out for him either. Here’s an idea, Mr. President, sir. Stop embarrassing the rest of us, and if you can’t do that (we know you can’t) then resign.
