GOP Lawmakers Reportedly Aren’t Defending Trump Amid Election Debacle Because “They’re All Privately Completely Sick Of Working With President Trump”

Not as sick as most of us, I promise you.

Over the last four years, Trump has been protected by his party. No matter what idiotic statement he’d make, his sycophants would attempt to spin it. It didn’t matter if it was explaining why the President of the United States suggested bleach and sunshine injections as a legitimate COVID cure or why it looked like someone had course-corrected a hurricane projection map with a Sharpie marker, Trump has always had back-up — until now.

As Trump watches the votes come in, he is also watching himself lose his chance to ruin America for the next four years. It is being reported that with the writing on the wall for Trump’s campaign, most of those in the GOP are breaking ties, and some, as Kasie Hunt on MSNBC said this morning, are sick of him.

“I heard from one of my good sources, a Republican operative who essentially said there’s no message; what are we going to do with this?” she said. “But you know, I think they’re basically all just trying to wait it out, urge calm, say count the votes, hope there’s a decisive call here and that everyone can start to move on. Because I don’t think there is an appetite broadly among Republicans to blow up our entire system for Donald Trump.”

This is good to hear, because at one point it seemed like Trump would have that support, which would have put our government at odds. Of course, it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, some of Trump’s worst are still siding with him — those like Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz. But, overall it seems like more GOP members are finally coming to their senses.

Kasie Hunt continued on Morning Joe, saying, “They’re all privately completely sick of working with President Trump, I mean, it has been an exhausting four years for everyone in Washington. You know, we talked about this yesterday, you know, they think they could cut some deals with Joe Biden if Republicans control the Senate.”

It is good to know that those who spent the last four years defending Trump’s antics and giving him the ability to stand idly by as 235,000 American lives were lost to the coronavirus are finally sick of working with him. I’d say better late than never but I don’t think the people will forgive and forget this time.
