President Donald Trump’s daft daughter Ivanka promoted a National Day of Prayer as her father continues to abandon science in favor of reopening the country early. And social media users did not hold back in response.
More than 70,000 Americans are dead and more are going to die as states reopen early to appease Trump. We desperately need a leader who will listen to science to get us through this crisis. Unfortunately, Trump and his family refuse and would rather promote prayer instead to pander to their foolish evangelical supporters.
Lately, it’s been First Lady Melania Trump pushing the old and tired “thoughts and prayers” phrase in response to the pandemic.
But now Ivanka is doing it, this time by marking the National Day of Prayer and seemingly promoting it as a solution as if the virus will miraculously disappear if people pray hard enough.

Again, hospitals and states need medical supplies and Americans need to stay at home and practice social distancing while scientists develop a vaccine for this virus. Prayer won’t make it go away, and reopening early has only triggered a spike in cases and deaths.
Americans responded to Ivanka’s tone-deafness by telling her to shove it.

Trump and his family are going to kill us all by rejecting science, and the evangelical community is only helping him do it by ignoring that they are merely pretending to be religious.
