Matt Gaetz Is Apparently Looking To Retaliate Against Nancy Pelosi Over Jan 6th Investigation, Seemingly Threatens To Seize Her Phone Records If Probe Continues

Matt sounds scared.

Just like controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Republican House minority leader Kevin McCarthy, Rep. Matt Gaetz threatened telecommunications companies over the Jan. 6 Committee’s request for telecom companies, asking them to retain phone records involving the Trump White House on January 6th — as well as the phone records of a group of Republican members of Congress, including Gaetz, Greene, and McCarthy. McCarthy and Greene issued similar threats to say that they would retaliate against any telecommunications company that complies with a request to hand over Republicans’ messages to the January 6 commission when they have the majority.

But, Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz took things a step further on Real America’s Voice with Steve Bannon by suggesting that they could seize House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s phone records with her husband when his party is in control. I don’t think Gaetz thought this out; after all, he would have to have a reason to request Pelosi’s phone records. And in his case and his colleagues, there is good cause for the committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection to demand certain records be preserved.

“The reason Nancy Pelosi is doing this is because they want to cast this cloud of criminality,” Gaetz insisted. “Nancy Pelosi better be careful what she wishes for because if the new tradition when one party gains power in the House of Representatives is that you investigate the personal records and the personal lives of the people who are out of power, well then 2022 and 2023 are going to be very difficult years for the Democrats.”

“Maybe we ought to look at Nancy Pelosi’s phone records with her husband,” Gaetz continued, “who benefited millions of dollars off of stock trades and technology bills that were moving through the legislative process.”

Gaetz somehow suggested that other Democratic lawmakers could have their records seized, including Eric Swalwell and others he described as members of the “Jihad Squad.”

“This is unprecedented, this is Marxist, and I look forward to standing up against it,” he said.

Like Greene and McCarthy, Gaetz implied that Republicans could retaliate against telephone companies that comply with the Jan. 6 committee.

“Resist these efforts to really weaponize the Congress against its own members and elected representatives,” Gaetz said. And that’s odd since it was the former president that incited a mob to attack the U.S. Capitol, then they hunted down Democratic lawmakers and Trump’s own vice-president.

Watch:

He just gave us another reason to ensure that Republicans never have control of Congress or the Senate again. That clip would actually make a good ad for Democrats. Also, the threats only make them look guilty. Let’s say my ex went missing, and the police dropped by. I tell them I’m innocent, but “whatever you do, don’t look in the compost pile out back.” That’s what Gaetz, Greene, and McCarthy sound like.
