Just this morning, we reported that Donald Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows blatantly defied his subpoena to appear before the House select committee that is currently investigating the January 6th Capitol insurrection.

Just a few moments ago, we reported that close Trump ally Steve Bannon has officially been indicted, and a warrant issued for his arrest, on charges of contempt hailing back to his similar refusal to comply with a subpoena from the House committee in connection to their investigation.

Now, one member of said House select committee is issuing a rather stark warning to the former Trump administration official who pulled a page straight from Bannon’s playbook — if you don’t watch out, you’re going to be next.

Appearing on MSNBC just moments after Bannon’s indictment and arrest warrant was announced, House select committee member, Rep. Zoe Lofgren address both of the Trump pals and their refusal to cooperate with their respective subpoenas.

“Bannon and now Meadows appear to believe that they’re above the law,” Lofgren stated on MSNBC. “That’s not the case… You can’t do that in America, and I hope that Mr. Meadows will come to his senses and come in and answer questions and produce documents as the law requires.”

The MSNBC host asked if the House committee intends to vote to submit a criminal referral to the Department of Justice for Meadows’ defiance of his subpoena. Lofgren says the committee has not come to a decision on that matter yet.

“It seems to me that we’ve got to take some action,” she responded. “You can’t allow these individuals who have information that the committee needs to simply flout their obligation, thumb their nose at Congress and the law. That can’t happen in America, so we’ve got to take stern steps. I would hope actually that Mark would see this and understand that he has an obligation to come in.”

All I know is, Meadows had better heed this warning. Because it looks to me like they’re making an example out of Steve Bannon.
