Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday insisted on Fox News that he has not spoken to President Joe Biden since the commander-in-chief was sworn in; however, that completely contradicts what the Kentucky Republican said in early February.

“I haven’t been invited to the White House so far this administration,” McConnell said. “[They] are not interested in doing anything on a bipartisan basis in the political center,” the Senate Minority Leader said. “They’d be more than happy to pick off a few of our members and do what they would like to do.”

“They’re going hard left,” McConnell continued to say. “They misread the election. It’s a 50-50 Senate and a very narrow Democratic majority in the House, not a mandate to turn America into Bernie Sanders’s view of what America ought to be.”

Fox News host Bill Hemmer asked, “When was the last time you had a conversation with President Biden?”

“I don’t believe I have spoken with him since he was sworn in,” McConnell responded. “We had a couple of conversations before then.”

Watch:

Well, either McConnell was lying in February, or he’s lying now.

Here he is on February 2nd, saying, “The president called me on two things: Burma was one of them. The other…[was] the budget process and covid relief.”

Watch:

Additionally, McConnell said he doesn’t believe the filibuster is racist, despite its ties to white supremacy.

The Fox News host also suggested that the Senate Minority Leader had been “rolled by Democrats” after failing to obstruct the hugely popular COVID-19 relief bill.

“I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear you,” McConnell said.

Well, the thing is that after the stimulus relief bill was passed, some Republicans tried to claim credit for it even though they voted against it. Every Republican voted against relief for the American people. Every single one. “According to new polling from Vox and Data for Progress, some likely voters think that the relief package had bipartisan support — even though not a single congressional Republican voted for it,” Vox reports. One-third of Republican voters somehow believe that their party supported the American Relief  Plan.

So, I’m sure McConnell would like to distance himself from the fact that he, along with his party members, tried to obstruct the relief plan meant to help struggling Americans amid the raging pandemic.
