Mother’s Day Snub? White House Honors Melania And Usha For Mother’s Day— Trump Stays In Total Silence

The vibes were wildly different

The White House spent Sunday morning celebrating motherhood with polished tributes to Melania Trump and Usha Vance. Donald Trump himself, however, appeared more occupied with reposting Fox News segments and talking about Iran.

“Today, we celebrate the mothers whose unwavering love, sacrifice, & strength help mold the heart & soul of our nation,” the White House account posted. “To the millions of moms across America—and to First Lady Melania Trump & Second Lady Usha Vance—thank you.”

The message was polished, warm and very on-theme for the holiday.

Meanwhile, Trump’s personal Truth Social activity consisted of three reposts from Mark Levin’s Fox News program and a link to a Newsmax article about Israel’s foreign minister praising his Iran strategy.

The weekend’s actual Trump-authored Mother’s Day content had already arrived Friday, though even that greeting quickly wandered elsewhere.

“Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all, especially to the 115 THOUSAND AMERICANS who found jobs in the month of April alone!” he wrote, before moving through Bloomberg economists with Trump Derangement Syndrome, Jerome Powell and the America Hating Democrat Party.

He concluded: “more Americans are working today than ever before. Happy Mother’s Day and, know that, we are MAKING AMERICA WEALTHY AND SAFE AGAIN!”

Trump also said at a White House Rose Garden event Friday that being a mother is “not a job,” before recovering with: “But for this purpose, you have the most important job in America, or anywhere else.”

At the same event, he told an audience including Gold Star mothers and Angel Moms: “Among those with us this afternoon are a number of the angel moms who saw their precious children stolen from them by the open border policies of the radical left open borders.” The occasion was redirected on multiple occasions.

The weekend also produced a Washington Post op-ed under Melania’s byline, which called for restoring “the honor of motherhood after years in which feminism often placed career above family, with consequences to our nation.”

The reception was immediate and harsh. “Your husband compared a reporter to a female dog the other day,” read one top-ranked reply. Another called it “vomit-inducing.” ”

Michael Wolff, on the Daily Beast’s Inside Trump’s Head podcast, suggested the op-ed may reflect Melania breaking from her husband, noting that her public statements have consistently created problems for the West Wing. “In the times that she has come out, that has not been good for them,” Wolff said.
