New Book Claims White House Staffers Wanted Second Floor Offices To “Avoid” Trump Because He Hated Climbing Stairs

Incredible.

According to an excerpt from Michael Wolff’s new book, “Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency,” former President Donald Trump never walked up the stairs of the White House to the second floor during his four years in office. The twice-impeached one-term president was never one to exercise and has a penchant for fast foods, so that’s not too surprising. What is curious about the excerpt is that White House aides sought offices on the second floor to avoid Trump, according to Insider.

“Working on the second floor of the West Wing allowed aides to avoid dealing with former President Donald Trump because he never walked up the stairs to get to the upper floor, according to a forthcoming book by author Michael Wolff,” the outlet reports.

‘Wolff wrote that working out of the second-floor office, as Trump advisers Kellyanne Conway and Stephen Miller opted to do, “meant a degree of exclusion but also protection” because “Trump would never climb the stairs (and, by the end of his term, he never had),”‘ Insider reports.

The outlet notes that the Washington Post first reported in 2017 of the unlikelihood of Trump climbing those stairs.

“Though Conway took over the workspace previously occupied by Valerie Jarrett, who had been Obama’s closest adviser, the confidant dismissively predicted that Trump would rarely climb a flight of stairs,” the paper said at the time.

The excerpt of Wolff’s book that was published in New York Magazine on Monday highlighted the chaos on Jan. 6 when Trump supporters attacked the Capitol after being incited by the former president. And even though Trump would probably like to forget the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection, it’s now documented in a book, and we’re sure this won’t be the last one.

As for the stairs, it’s been speculated before that Trump might suffer from bathmophobia — a fear of stairs. But, I think he’s just a lazy git.  A man his age really should get an exercise regimen going, but he probably thinks he’ll live forever.
