Donald Trump’s secretary of state is reportedly about to go through the revolving door just outside of the White House, joining the exodus from this “administration.” Three prominent Republicans have said that Mike Pompeo, a staunch defender of Trump’s, is planning to resign from the White House to run for a Senate seat in Kansas, according to a Time report.
Pompeo planned to stay at the State Department until next year, but he is now concerned that Trump is hurting his reputation and the impeachment inquiry is straining his relationship with the “president.”
State Department officials said Pompeo has dismissed the story as “completely false” but the three Republicans, one who served in the Trump Administration, another who remains in government, and a third who served in several high-ranking posts and is active in GOP politics, say otherwise.
“Secretary Pompeo is only focused on executing President Trump’s foreign policy goals and completing the mission for the American people at the State Department. Anyone who says otherwise is just wrong,” a person close with Pompeo insisted.

Pompeo’s reputation is already shit, though, after tying himself to the most toxic and corrupt “administration” in history, and his refusal to even defend former ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch or diplomat William Taylor speaks volumes.
Trump has reportedly been blaming Pompeo after State Department officials have testified in the impeachment inquiry.
“He feels like he’s getting a bunch of blame from the president and the White House for having hired all these people who are turning against Trump,” an official said of Pompeo, “and that it’s the State Department that is going to bring him down, so it’s all Pompeo’s fault.”
That report was recent, but Trump targeted his handpicked Secretary of State by name on Twitter last month, saying that Pompeo “made a mistake” when he hired Taylor, and the “president” doubled down and suggested the same thing to reporters in October.
Pompeo is being thrown under the bus because the “president” refuses to accept responsibility for his own actions. Trump has always been that way, and we’re not sure why anyone in this “administration” thinks they are safe from this “president’s” angry outbursts.
