New Report Claims Trump’s People Conjure Up Ways To Make Donald Feel Good About Himself

Apparently, making Trump happy is more important than fixing the country

Donald Trump is such a sad narcissist that his staffers have had to resort to making sh*t up to puff up his ego.

Trump is currently getting his a** handed to him by former Vice President Joe Biden in the polls, especially in crucial battleground states. Biden is even pulling even with or ahead of Trump in states like Texas. And as the pandemic continues to rage on and the economy continues to sag, Trump’s approval ratings are dropping and his chances for re-election are dwindling.

Needless to say, Trump is not happy about this, which is why his staff spends a lot of their time trying to boost his ego instead of working to fix what is ailing the nation.

According to The Daily Beast:

As Trump’s re-election campaign has struggled to tear down former Vice President Joe Biden with less than four months until Election Day, the president’s staff have devoted considerable resources to finding novel ways to make him feel better about the crumbling world around him.

They tell him tales of his sagging poll numbers being fake. They’ve concocted ways of convincing him that the adoring crowds he loves on the campaign trail are still there and ready. They’ve pledged that the social, racial, and economic crises ravaging the nation are ephemeral. And they’ve carried his water as he seeks to reassert his authority over situations falling beyond his control.”

Specifically, Trump’s staffers constantly show him footage of boaters in Florida parading for him as some sort of proof that America loves him.

“[T]he president’s lieutenants have sought to lift his spirits in numerous other ways during this dark and deadly chapter for the country,” the report said. “One of them is to simply highlight for the president—as much as they possibly can—the images and footage of Trump-loving citizens the president has affectionately dubbed his “beautiful ‘boaters’” during the pandemic.”

This has resulted in Trump bragging about the boaters to the press, and Trump has even gone so far as to inquire whether his people are “polling the boaters” as if that’s supposed to somehow prove his bad poll numbers are “fake” as he often claims. Speaking of polls, his staffers also show him unscientific polls with more positive numbers.

Trump’s campaign even dropped $400,000 on a campaign ad buy in the Washington DC area just so Trump would see ads on television praising him. It’s pretty pathetic, but the campaign obviously feels placating Trump, and stroking his ego is beneficial.

“There are probably things that the campaign and the White House do to mollify Trump, and if those things result in a net benefit for the president and his campaign, then they are worth doing,” a former White House official said.

More than likely, these staffers are just hoping to make Trump happy so they don’t lose their jobs or become the target of one of his temper tantrums on Twitter. But these tactics won’t be able to hide the reality forever. Once Election Day comes and goes, Trump will learn how the people really feel about him. And his ego will be crushed.
