Report Claims Don Jr. Has Taken On Role As One Of Trump’s “Chief Political Advisers,” The “Go-To Person” For Political Strategy

Junior, your father still doesn't love you.

Usually, if you lose at something, you change your tactics if you’re going to try again, but not if you’re Donald Jr. Trump. The former president, who is responsible for losing the White House, Senate, and the House, said that Republicans have to embrace his MAGA agenda if they want to win back the House and Senate in 2022. Further, CNN reports that in the wake of Trump’s loss, the former president “has elevated his son Donald Trump Jr. to an unofficial new role inside his orbit as he weighs the idea of a comeback presidential bid in 2024.”

“Behind the scenes, Trump’s eldest son has emerged as one of the former president’s chief political advisers, according to multiple sources who are close to Trump or involved with his political operation,” the outlet reports. “Like his brother-in-law Jared Kushner, who spent much of the last four years attempting to steer the Trump show from inside the West Wing, Trump Jr. has been working closely with his father’s team to ensure the next iteration of the 45th President’s political career is running smoothly and that his father is endorsing reliably conservative candidates.”

“But his role extends far beyond operational guidance. In the months since Trump left Washington, Trump Jr. — who never worked in the White House and is undeniably the most conservative member of the Trump family — has been steadily influencing his father’s political instincts,” the report continues. “Aides describe their relationship as notably more affable than Trump’s ever was with Kushner, who has taken a break from politics.”

“Don has the pulse of the base and knows where the energy of the party is, so he’s sort of the go-to person now on a lot of political things,” one Trump aide told the outlet.

Imagine going to Donald Trump Jr. for advice. Like his father, Junior contracted COVID-19 last year. Donald Trump completely bungled the pandemic while mocking social distancing guidelines as he held super-spreader events. The U.S. seriously needed an adult at the helm to steer us through the national crisis, but instead, Trump surrendered to the coronavirus without even putting up a fight. Sure, Trump should run against Biden in 2024, but only so that we can see the biggest loser in politics lose again.
