Report Claims Trump Admin Is “Privately Projecting A Steady Rise” In COVID-19 Cases And Deaths, And It Doesn’t Appear They Are Telling Us About It

He's lying to us!!!

As Donald Trump and his administration continue to push the reopening of the American economy and encourage the public to get back to business as usual as soon as possible, with claims that the COVID-19 crisis is on the downstroke, a bombshell new report from the New York Times claims that the president and his White House are privately predicting a much more dismal outcome — they’re just hiding it from us.

“As President Trump presses for states to reopen their economies, his administration is privately projecting a steady rise in the number of cases and deaths from the coronavirus over the next several weeks, reaching about 3,000 daily deaths on June 1, according to an internal document obtained by The New York Times, nearly double from the current level of about 1,750,” the Times report reads.

“The projections, based on modeling by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and pulled together in chart form by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, forecast about 200,000 new cases each day by the end of the month, up from about 25,000 cases now.”

The report goes on to note the “sobering reality” that’s outlined in the projected numbers: “While the United States has been hunkered down for the past seven weeks, not much has changed. And the reopening to the economy will make matters worse.”

Even the Centers for Disease Control warned, “There remains a large number of counties whose burden continues to grow.”

These projections that the Trump administration seems to be trying to hide from the public only serve to confirm our worst fears — if Trump gets his way when it comes to reopening this nation, we will quickly be right back where we were back in March when the nation was so overwhelmed with the rapid increase in cases that patients were dying on gurneys in hospital hallways and bodies were being stored in trucks until someone could find time to dispose of them properly.

It’s also true that many states that have followed through with an early reopen are already seeing a significant uptick in cases.

Even Trump’s former FDA commissioner, Scott Gottlieb, recently stated that Americans “may be facing the prospect that 20,000, 30,000 new cases a day diagnosed becomes the new normal.”

But Trump doesn’t seem to mind, so long as his precious economy can open back up.
