Report Claims Trump’s Car Ride That Put Secret Service In Danger Of Getting Sick Was A Compromise Made To Keep Him In The Hospital

Trump’s now infamous ride around the block is possibly even more absurd than we knew. Business Insider is reporting that Donald was actually demanding to be released from the hospital Wednesday but his doctors were against it, and thus the asinine compromise was brokered — in exchange for having his little presidential “drive-by” while still ailing from COVID-19, he would stay in the hospital’s care for a while longer.

That fifteen-minute joy ride, though, was more irresponsible than it may seem. Dr. James P. Phillips, an assistant professor of emergency medicine at George Washington University who is attending at Walter Reed lays it out for us on Twitter:

“Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary Presidential ‘drive-by’ just now has to be quarantined for 14 days. They might get sick. They may die. For political theater. Commanded by Trump to put their lives at risk for theater. This is insanity.”

He continues by saying, “That Presidential SUV is not only bulletproof but hermetically sealed against chemical attack. The risk of COVID19 transmission inside is as high as it gets outside of medical procedures.”

White House spokesperson Judd Deere shot back with a paper-thin defense that ignores all of the issues at hand, saying, “Appropriate precautions were taken in the execution of this movement to protect the president and all those supporting it.”

Not only was the stunt done only to attempt to make our ailing president look and feel strong, it also didn’t satisfy him for very long. Just days later he is now claiming that he is leaving Walter Reed Medical Center to go back to the White House — all while downplaying the very deadly virus that could still possibly take his life, just like it has taken over 200,000 lives of other Americans.
