This could destroy Trump.

Donald Trump should be terrified to run for re-election just due to the fact that his approval rating has never been lower and Special Counsel Robert Mueller seems to be on his heels now. But now that we’re nearing the time where contenders for 2020 will be announcing their runs, the president should be extra nervous.

One Democrat is already teasing a 2020 run and it’s going to have Trump’s stomach in knots. Yesterday, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) stated that she was currently considering a 2020 run. In an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”, she said:

It will ultimately be a family decision. And over the holiday, I will make that decision with my family.”

If Harris decides to run, she could become Trump’s worst nightmare. Not only is she considered a strong contender, but she’s biracial and has already made history as the first Indian-American to serve in the Senate in 2016. And we all saw in 2016 just how terrified Trump is when he’s faced with a strong woman.

In this interview, Harris also acknowledged the political climate 2020 candidates would face against Trump. She said:

Let’s be honest. It’s going to be ugly.”

Harris is currently one of the most highly anticipated contenders for 2020, and many Americans will readily rally behind her. Already, Harris is showing signs of someone who is ready to run. She campaigned heavily for Democratic candidates for the midterm elections and has contributed $25,000 to Democratic parties in four early nominating states. Another major tell is that Harris is releasing a book in January, which will come out a year before the traditional Iowa caucuses kick off the voting in the Democratic presidential race. Her book, “The Truths We Hold: An American Journey,” details her personal journey fighting for social justice.

With all of this considered, this certainly looks and feels like a future candidate, and we hope to see Harris give Trump a run for his money.
