Trump Appears To Be Unhappy With The Audience’s Response During His Latest Speech, Says “Only The Smart People Are Clapping”

Nah. The 'smart people' are the ones who didn't show up, dude.

Donald Trump delivered a speech at the Economic Club of New York today and it was just as big a flaming, stinky, God-awful dumpster fire as all the rest of them are.

He quickly made a super-colossal fool out of himself, and by default pretty much the rest of the nation — complete with more than one fumble in his words, some slurred speech, a thinly-veiled campaign advertisement, and even a sideways mention of world dominance.

So, seriously, it was your typical Trump speech.

But perhaps the funniest remarks to fly from the mouth of Donald Trump this afternoon came at the beginning of the speech — when he found himself a little on the butthurt side after he didn’t receive the amount of applause he’d been expecting.

Trump began by claiming that the economy is thriving in spite of rate hikes from the U.S. Federal Reserve.

“Eight increases in total,” Donald whined, “which were, in my opinion, far too fast an increase and far too slow a decrease.”

He went on to add that other countries around the world “openly cut interest rates so that now many are actually getting paid when they pay off their loan, known as negative interest,” before expressing his wishes that the U.S. Treasury could pay off companies in the United States.

“Give me some of that money,” he stated. “I want some of that money. Our Federal Reserve doesn’t let us do it.”

Evidently, Donnie really expected to get a rambunctious reaction out of the crowd with that little quip and was rather disappointed when they let him down.

“The smart people are clapping,” Trump said. “Only the smart people are clapping.”

Honestly, dude, if they were there to listen to you speak, chances are none of them are super “smart.” The “smart” ones stayed the hell home.
