Trump Insider Reveals Why President ‘Won’t Endorse Vance Or Rubio’ — Would Rather Back Newsom

Who will succeed Donald Trump? It might be neither of the favorites.

With two-and-a-half years until the 2028 election, who might succeed Donald Trump as the Republican standard-bearer is becoming a bigger story. It’s mostly seen that the strongest contenders are Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

But what if it’s neither? One former Trump loyalist sees things that way.

According to The Mirror US, Anthony Scaramucci, who infamously served as Trump’s director of communications for just 11 days during his first term, said that Trump is unlikely to endorse either Vance or Rubio as his successor.

“He won’t endorse Vance or Rubio. He will not do that, in my opinion,” Scaramucci told the newspaper, ahead of an appearance at the Fleet Street Quarter’s Festival of Words.

“He will not do that because he sees himself as the only real leader, and he has that Shakespearean tragic quality to him, you know, where he’ll hold on to the bitter end, and nobody can replace him,” he added.

Why is that the case?

“He doesn’t want those guys sitting in that seat. In other words, in his mind, they’re not worthy to sit in that seat, only he’s worthy to sit in that seat,” Scaramucci said in the interview. “He doesn’t want those guys taking any credit. Like, he actually thinks he’s doing a great job. He’s got a 32% approval rating, it’s like the lowest rating in modern history, but he thinks he’s doing a great job.”

The former White House aide also said that if it came to that, Trump would probably prefer Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Democratic governor of California, who is expected to run in 2028.

“He’s not going to support them…he would rather Gavin Newsom win and then he laughs and says, ‘You Republicans were nobody before I got here and you’re nobody after I’ve left,'” “The Mooch” said in the interview.

“That’s Donald Trump, that’s the pure narcissism of Donald Trump. ‘You guys are nobodies I carried you into the White House. I carried you into the Senate. I’m carrying you back out.'”
