Evidently, the trouble in paradise just keeps heaping on for Donald Trump as he faces down an election that he’s almost sure to lose.
According to a new report from Axios, Trump has recently found himself rather regretful about taking and advice from his son-in-law, Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, and has since vowed to never take another word of counsel from the guy on criminal justice reform moving forward.
Axios’ Jonathan Swan spoke with several sources who claim that Trump feels like Kushner’s massive sentencing reform bill has not only been nothing short of a huge bust among his supporters but that it has also severely damaged his self-described image as a “law and order” leader.
One source inside the White House described Trump’s attitude towards Kushner’s advice on criminal justice reform as “No more of Jared’s woke shit.”

Swan goes on to note in his report that Trump seemingly soured on the idea of taking any more of Jared’s advice, or even agreeing with his past recommendations, a few weeks after Fox News host Tucker Carlson, whom Trump watches frequently, launched a massive attack against his son-in-law.
“In 2016, Donald Trump ran as a law-and-order candidate because he meant it,” Carlson stated on his segment, seemingly indicating that Trump no longer had his 2016 grit, before tearing into Jared Kushner. “And his views remain fundamentally unchanged today. But the president’s famously sharp instincts, the ones that won him the presidency almost four years ago, have been since subverted at every level by Jared Kushner.”
Swan goes on to write that he feels as though Trump will now abandon Jared’s ideologies and soft approach on things like criminal justice reform and will instead focus his attention on the hard-ass rhetoric and behavior that his base tends to eat up — such as cracking down on the vandalization and destruction of statues and criticizing and demonizing the Black Lives Matters movement as a whole.
Because in the end, all his base wants is a racist president that will allow them to keep being racist people.
