Trump Responds To ‘Third Rate Artists’ After They Back Out Of His Event

The president seemed to pitch himself as a replacement for performers who canceled their performances at the Great American State Fair.

After days of cancellations of artists who had been booked for the Great American State Fair Concert Series, President Donald Trump appears to have pitched himself as their replacement- in the most arrogant way imaginable.

“I understand Artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists,’ and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!,” Trump said in the Truth Social post.

It’s not clear what Trump meant by “on Wednesday.” The Great American State Fair shows were scheduled to take place on several days, between June 24 and July 10.

“I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN. So, by copy of this TRUTH, I am ordering my Representatives to look at the feasibility of doing an AMERICA IS BACK Rally on Wednesday, Washington, D.C., same time, same location. Only Great Patriots invited — It will be a Wild and Beautiful Celebration of America!”

It’s also not clear if the “America is Back” rally would take place on the Wednesday of July 4 week, or a different week. The actual July 4 is a Saturday.

While he referred to himself as “THE GOAT,” a subsequent Truth Social post later on Saturday referred to Tom Brady by that nickname, although Trump did include himself in the picture:

He also posted an A.I.-generated picture of himself, in a New York Knicks uniform, dunking over New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who is wearing a “HOCHUL” uniform, clearly in the style of that the Philadelphia 76ers, while endorsing Hochul’s Republican opponent Brad Blakeman.
