On Wednesday, the terms of the “memorandum of understanding” meant to end the war with Iran were released, and between opponents laughing at him and supporters turning against him, it led to some of the worst press of Trump’s presidency.
The president couldn’t have been happy about the reaction, and apparently, he couldn’t sleep either.
At 4:32 a.m., Trump ranted on Truth Social about the “fools” who are unhappy with the agreement.
Per the New York Post, Trump said on his social network that “These fools, who think I haven’t been tough enough on Iran, when the Stock Market Just Hit A RECORD HIGH, and Oil prices are ‘tumbling’ down, are either jealous, bad people, or stupid.”

Soon after, Trump posted an article about Pope Leo praising the peace agreement; the Pope has a tendency to praise peace agreements in general.
Then, at a more reasonable hour, Trump posted in all caps that “OIL IS FLOWING, IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON (THE WORLD WILL BE SAFE!), THE STOCK MARKETS ARE ROARING, JOBS ARE AT RECORDS, AND PRICES ARE DROPPING (AFFORDABILITY!). OUR COUNTRY IS STRONG, SAFE, AND RESPECTED LIKE NEVER BEFORE. “YOU’RE WELCOME!” President DJT”
Numerous Republican pundits, and even some elected officials, remain less than enthused with the agreement, especially since there had been hopes that Iran’s nuclear capability would be fully eliminated, that Iran would agree to not arm terrorist proxies in the region, and perhaps that the war would lead to the fall of the Iranian regime.
Also, per NPR, the president’s approval has now hit “record lows.”
“Trump’s approval ratings continue to fall to record lows, particularly over his handling of the economy, according to the latest NPR/PBS News/Marist poll,” the NPR story said. “Only one-third of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the economy, which is three points lower than the worst ratings former President Joe Biden received during his term. Just 36% of respondents approve of Trump’s overall job performance, while 59% disapprove, marking the widest gap he has faced in either of his terms in office.”
