Trump’s Former Fixer Just Dubbed Mark Meadows The “Dumbest As*hole On The Hill” And We Couldn’t Agree With Him More

I wholeheartedly agree with him on this one.

It was reported earlier today, by CNN and various other publications, that Donald Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has brought his cooperation with the January 6th Committee to a screeching halt.

Meadows’ attorney penned a letter to the Committee, basically stating that his client would no longer be complying or cooperating with the investigation because the Committee isn’t doing things the way Meadows and his attorney want them to.

In a joint statement released by leaders of the Committee, Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi and GOP Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, it was made clear that the Committee would not hesitate to move forward with charges of contempt against the former Trump Chief of Staff, should he truly refuse to show for his scheduled deposition tomorrow:

Tomorrow’s deposition, which was scheduled at Mr. Meadows’s request, will go forward as planned. If indeed Mr. Meadows refuses to appear, the Select Committee will be left no choice but to advance contempt proceedings and recommend that the body in which Mr. Meadows once served refer him for criminal prosecution.”

Meadows, along with other Trump allies, have desperately attempted to use the concept of executive privilege to shelter themselves from the investigation and anything that comes with it — with Meadows’ attorney going so far as to state in his letter to the Committee that his client will no longer be cooperating with the investigation because “the Select Committee has no intention of respecting boundaries concerning Executive Privilege.”

But Donald Trump’s former personal attorney and self-described “fixer” Michael Cohen ain’t buying it.

Taking to Twitter with his response to the news of Meadows’ sudden change of heart, Cohen dubbed the former Chief of Staff the “dumbest asshole on The Hill” — and, frankly, we couldn’t agree with him more.

In a separate tweet, Cohen took aims at Meadows’ executive privilege claims, in particular, mocking the fact that Meadows is attempting to claim privilege over information that he quite literally, willingly, wrote in a book that’s being peddled to the general public.

You’re gonna have to pick a direction there, Meadows. Or the Committee is going to pick on for you. And something tells me it’ll be the same one your ole pal Steve Bannon just went.
