Veterans Organization Demands Apology From Trump After He Appeared To Lie About Troops’ Injuries During Soleimani Attack

They're disgusted by his comments!

Ever since Iran launched a retaliation missile strike on a US base in Iraq as a result of Trump’s unannounced decision to launch an airstrike on a traveling convoy near a Baghdad airport that effectively assassinated Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani, Trump has been regularly peddling the claim that no one was hurt as a result of his foolishness.

While no one’s particularly mourning Soleimani’s death, the fact of the matter is Trump, along with everyone else, knew that Iran would retaliate against his killing —and  that’s the exact reason that those before him avoided the move.

So, naturally, Donald is doing his best to make it appear as though everything is all fine and dandy and his politically-fueled decision was a damn good one after all.

But he’s full of shit.

While it’s true that there were no American casualties as a result of the Iran retaliation strike, 170 lives were lost when one of Iran’s missiles struck a Ukrainian flight full of innocent passengers, and whether Trump wants to admit it or not, 34 American troops were, in fact, injured as a direct result of the attack.

Since Trump’s declaration of no injuries, he’s been cornered by a reporter and found his claims discredited by his own Pentagon. While Donald has continually peddled the claim that the US troops suffered nothing more serious than a “headache,” several reports, including one directly from the Pentagon, has revealed that those “headaches” were actually 34 cases of traumatic brain injuries — a very real, very serious, potentially life-threatening injury.

As a result of Donald’s flagrant dismissal of these damages, the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization (VFW) has spoken out against the self-proclaimed “biggest supporter of the military.”

In a statement written by VFW National Commander William “Doc” Schmitz, it’s explained that a traumatic brain injury (TBI) “is a serious injury and one that cannot be taken lightly.”

“In light of today’s announcement from the defense department that 34 U.S. service members suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result of Iran’s retaliatory strike and President Trump’s remarks which minimized these troops’ injuries, the Veterans of Foreign Wars cannot stand idle on this matter,” the statement reads.

“TBI is known to cause depression, memory loss, severe headaches, dizziness, and fatigue — all injuries that come with both short- and long-term effects.”

The VFW is now calling on Trump to apologize to the nation’s servicemembers for his dismissive, ignorant, and dangerous comments.

“The VFW expects an apology from the president to our servicemen and women for his misguided remarks,” the organization wrote in their statement. “And, we ask that he and the White House join with us in our efforts to educate Americans of the dangers TBI has on these heroes as they protect our great nation in these trying times.”

“Our warriors require our full support more than ever in this challenging environment,” the organization concluded.

In the end, I don’t expect Trump to apologize for this statement any more than he did the “p*ssy grabbing” one. However, I can only hope that this serves as further proof to his base that he’s not the man he promised to be.

He doesn’t care about our troops. Donald Trump cares about himself. Period.
