Volunteer On Kushner’s COVID Response Team Reportedly Was So Worried By What They Saw, They Ended Up Filing A Complaint With House Oversight Committee

Why am I not surprised?

Recently, Donald Trump chose his completely unqualified son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to head his administration’s response to the deadly coronavirus outbreak in the United States.

Frankly, it wasn’t a surprising move on Trump’s part, considering he has a serious tendency to go out of his way to choose the most ridiculously unqualified individual for pretty much every position in his administration — i.e. Ivanka Trump having a single government-ing role to her name.

However, being that we’re in the middle of a literal pandemic that’s killing people off by the thousands, it’s safe to say that Kushner’s botched excuse for government-ing is causing a lot more issues than Ivanka taking a phone call that she has no business on.

According to a new report from the Washington Post, Kushner has done such a terrible job in leading the Trump administration’s response to this fatal outbreak that one insider on his COVID-19 response team actually filed a complaint with the House Oversight Committee, because they were that worried.

As part of the response effort he was heading, several volunteers were brought on to help combat the crisis, including the catastrophic lack of personal protection equipment (PPE) for medical personnel on the front lines, treating infected patients.

However, the WaPo report reveals that most of those who were brought on to Kushner’s response team were so unqualified and poorly matched with their jobs that more problems were arising from the situation than solutions.

The Post obtained a copy of the complaint filed by a former volunteer on the response team who only spoke anonymously to avoid repercussions for speaking out against Trump’s son-in-law. Several key elements contained in the complaint were corroborated by six different officials in the administration and one outside advisor.

“The document alleges that the team responsible for PPE had little success in helping the government secure such equipment, in part because none of the team’s members had significant experience in health care, procurement, or supply-chain operations. In addition, none of the volunteers had existing relationships with manufacturers or a clear understanding of customs requirements or Food and Drug Administration rules, according to the complaint and two senior administration officials,” WaPo writes.

The complaint, filed on April 8th, stated, “Americans are facing a crisis of tragic proportions and there is an urgent need for an effective, efficient and bold response. From my few weeks as a volunteer, I believe we are falling short. I am writing to alert my representatives of these challenges and to ask that they do everything possible to help front-line health-care workers and other Americans in need.”

Evidently, volunteers were also instructed to prioritize PPE to “VIPs” such as Trump-friendly journalists, according to the complaint.

Frankly, it appears as though all Kushner’s “efforts” have done is taken a terrible situation and made it all the worse.
