Donald Trump went to Walter Reed on Tuesday, spent three hours inside and emerged to post on Truth Social that everything had “checked out PERFECTLY.” The White House promised a readout within 24 hours. Three days passed before the report finally arrived, but the release did little to put the questions to rest.
The White House handled this visit differently from Trump’s previous medical appointments. After Trump’s April 2025 visit, Dr. Sean Barbabella published a summary memo two days later. Following the October 2025 visit, Barbabella’s declaration of “exceptional health” was released that same day.
This time the White House told reporters to expect “a readout in the next day or so,” but nothing appeared for three days. During that period, medical experts openly questioned why basic information had still not been shared.
“It would imply that there is information they don’t want the public to hear,” said Dr. Jonathan Reiner of George Washington University School of Medicine, who served as Dick Cheney’s cardiologist for years.
“It would imply that there is information they don’t want the public to hear,” Reiner said of the lack of disclosure about Trump’s most recent exam. https://t.co/ljZRfKAvgg

He added separately: “It’s unimaginable to me that the White House would not release a statement about the president’s health — even the most basic statement. It’s going to really spark concerns about the president’s fitness for office if the White House refuses to disclose his medical report.”
When the report finally arrived, the neurological findings were among the first details highlighted by the White House. Barbabella confirmed Trump underwent a “comprehensive neurological exam” showing “normal mental status, intact cranial nerves, normal motor strength, sensation, reflexes, gait, and balance.”
Trump also took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment for what is now at least the fourth time and “scored 30 out of 30, a perfect score.” His AI-enhanced electrocardiogram “estimated his cardiac age to be approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age.”
The physical measurements placed Trump at 238 pounds with a BMI of 28.0, a 14-pound increase from the 224 pounds recorded in the April 2025 report. His blood pressure was 105/71 mmHg, resting heart rate 73 beats per minute and pulse oximetry 98% on room air. The report noted slight lower leg swelling “with improvement from last year.” His cardiovascular and abdominal imaging was described as “perfectly normal.”
The dermatology section addressed the hand bruising that has been a recurring subject of public attention. Barbabella wrote that examination of the hands “revealed ecchymosis, consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention,” adding: “This represents a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy. No suspicious lesions or concerning growths identified.”
The laboratory results were largely within normal ranges. Total cholesterol came in at 143 mg/dL, triglycerides at 104 mg/dL and LDL at 53 mg/dL. Trump’s current medications are listed as Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe for cholesterol control and aspirin for cardiac prevention. The report noted lifelong abstinence from tobacco and alcohol.
The preventive care section of the report recommended “guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.” This contradicts Trump’s own January admission that he takes 325mg aspirin instead of the recommended low dose.
The visit itself also came with its own set of questions. Tuesday marked Trump’s third trip to Walter Reed in 13 months, a frequency no recent president has matched. His own Truth Social post described it as a “6 month physical,” which would mean two annual physicals in twelve months. He has also visited a Florida dentist twice in 2026, despite the White House having its own dental suite.
