William Taylor, the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, told House investigators on Wednesday during the first televised hearing that one of his staffers overheard “President” Donald Trump ask about the “investigations” he wanted to be conducted on his rival, Joe Biden. This conversation was overheard just one day after Trump’s infamous quid pro quo July 25 call to the Ukraine president.
We’ve all seen Trump’s tweets blasting the impeachment inquiry on Twitter but if he’d just stop doing impeachable shit, there wouldn’t be a problem, but here we are.
Taylor, during the opening public hearing, said that he found out last week that one of his aides heard Trump’s voice on the phone line as the “president” pushed Ambassador Gordon Sondland about the partisan probes that he hoped would help his reelection bid, the Daily News reports,

“Ambassador Sondland responded that President Trump cared more about the investigations of Biden (than Ukraine),” Taylor testified during the impeachment inquiry.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff asked Taylor to expand on this new revelation.
“So your staff overhears the president asking about the investigations, meaning Burisma and the Bidens and 2016,” Schiff said. “And Ambassador Sondland told President Trump that the Ukrainians were ready to move forward?”
“He did,” Taylor responded.
“When your (staffer) asked Ambassador Sondland what President Trump thought of Ukraine, his response was that President Trump cares more about the investigations of Biden, is that right?” Schiff asked.
“And Burisma,” Taylor said, in reference to the Ukrainian natural gas company that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, worked for.
So, Taylor found out that the aide heard Trump through the phone asking about “the investigations” into his rival and Sondland told the “president” that the Ukrainians were ready to play ball. That whole extortion racket isn’t working out too well for Trump because he keeps getting caught.
As we’ve said before here, in every article about Trump’s many scandals, we could ask, “What if Obama had done this?” But, that would be redundant and we already know that Republicans would have gotten out the torches and pitchforks for their march to the White House. This is another timeline, though, and one where rules and laws don’t seem to matter anymore. Also, Obama is black and Trump is white.
