Last July, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said about the Jan. 6 investigation, “If they call me, I got nothing to hide.” Well, he’s hiding now. And, of course, the House Select committee investigating the attack on our Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters would want to talk to the Ohio Republican. After all, Jordan sent former chief of staff Mark Meadows a text on Jan. 6, appearing to want former Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 election results; however, Jordan claimed that it was a forwarding analysis by another attorney — former Pentagon Inspector General Joseph Schmitz.
Jordan dogged former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was grilled for eleven hours without breaking a sweat, over the Benghazi attack. And yet, we were attacked on U.S. soil by Americans. In a letter to committee chair Rep. Bennie Johnson, Jordan said that “the American people are tired of Democrats’ nonstop investigations.”
No. The investigations have just begun, and Clinton was investigated for 30 years, so he needs to sit his ass down. Jordan somehow brought up House Speaker Nancy Pelosi twice in his letter even though she was a target on Jan. 6 with an unruly mob looking for her and vice president Mike Pence while a gallows was erected outside the Capitol.
Jordan went on to claim in his written response that the request from investigators “is far outside the bounds of any legitimate inquiry, violates core constitutional principles and would serve to further erode legislative norms.”

The New York Times recently reported that Jordan huddled in crisis meetings at Trump campaign headquarters as early as Nov. 9, just two days after Joe Biden became president-elect. The paper also reported that the Ohio Republican took part in a meeting at the White House two weeks before the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. He plotted with former President Donald Trump on how to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election. Jordan is one of Trump’s big lie propagators of a rigged election, using dangerous rhetoric that led to the Jan. 6 insurrection. Get some brass ovaries like Hillary, Jim, and sit down to answer the investigators’ questions. Maybe Jim only cares if we are attacked on foreign soil.
