Controversial Colorado Republican House Rep. Lauren Boebert effectively got her ass handed to her for all of Twitter to bear witness to today, by none other than her New York Democratic colleague, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, after Boebert had the absolute gall to respond to yesterday’s mass murder at a Texas elementary school by simply stating, “You cannot legislate away evil.”
You cannot legislate away evil.

Allow me to remind you that 19 innocent young children and 2 teachers didn’t go home last night after an 18-year-old gunman opened fire on a 4th-grade classroom at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

The massacre was the state of Texas’s most deadly school shooting in modern history, the nation’s third most deadly shooting, just after the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting and 2012 Sandy Hook shooting, and the country’s third deadly mass shooting in a matter of weeks.
And apparently, Lauren Boebert thinks it’s as simple as 5 little words in a tweet.
AOC called bullshit.
In response to the GOP lawmaker’s tone-deaf tweet, the NY Democratic Congresswoman fired back, asking, “Why even be in Congress if you don’t believe in doing your job?”
“Just quit and let someone who actually gives a damn do it instead of acting like a useless piece of furniture when babies are shot with AR15s that we let teen boys impulse buy before they can legally have a beer,” Ocasio-Cortez fumed on Twitter in the caption of a retweet of Boebert’s post.

It was pretty clear that Boebert was aiming her tweet at gun reform advocates who are begging the lawmakers in this nation to bring an end to this epidemic of gun violence and death in the US.
Boebert, who unironically owns a bar called Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado, where her staff literally pack around firearms for aesthetics, has regularly relied on a debunked story about a man who was supposedly beaten to death outside of her restaurant as the catalyst for her desire to keep herself and her restaurant staff armed at all times.
Lauren, of course, just loves to laud her guns over the American people, striking up a metric shitton of controversy back in December of 2021 when she tweeted a photo of herself and her four young sons who were armed to the gills with massive guns… In front of their Christmas tree.
The Boeberts have your six, @RepThomasMassie!
