Cindy McCain Appears To Take A Perfect Jab At Trump While Addressing World Press Freedom Day

World Press Freedom Day — that was disregarded by Donald Trump today as he lashed out at the media — is meant to raise awareness of the importance of freedom of the press and to remind governments of their duty to respect and uphold the right to freedom of expression. It’s a First Amendment thing, but the president can’t handle any sort of critical coverage so he flies off the handle on a daily basis on Twitter. In response to poll numbers that Trump completed fabricated, the former reality show star painted the media as “corrupt” and called the press the “enemy of the people.”

After Senator John McCain died on August 15, 2019 at age 81 due to complications stemming from brain cancer, Donald Trump tore into the late Arizona Republican on multiple occasions. But his wife Cindy remained strong and didn’t take any of the president’s shit. We can disagree with some of McCain’s politics, but he would not allow Trump to bully him. Mrs. McCain isn’t afraid of our whiny president either. You have to give it to Cindy McCain: She has guts, even when Trump’s rabid supporters come at her following another attack on her late husband from the president.

Mrs. McCain honored World Press Freedom Day while Donald Trump failed to do so, and she took a veiled shot at the president.

“My husband wisely said ‘if you want to preserve democracy as we know it, you have to have a free and many times adversarial press. And without it, I am afraid that we would lose so much of our individual liberties over time. That’s how dictators get started,'” she tweeted.

John McCain never lashed out at the press. Not once. Only a thin-skinned individual can’t handle criticism. And it seems to me that Cindy McCain just explained how dictators “get started” and we’re looking at you, Donald Trump. The president also needs to learn that you should never mock the dead. It only tempts fate.
