As expected, Trump and his band of Republican jockeys are effectively pitching a fit over the plea deal that was reached between the US Department of Justice and President Biden’s controversial son Hunter in connection to misdemeanor tax fraud charges lodged against the First Son. Multiple GOP talking heads have railed against the plea agreement, calling it a “Sweetheart Deal” and citing it as proof that a double standard exists within the DOJ when compared to the brutal 37-count indictment recently lodged against scandal-ridden ex-President Trump is the stolen classified document case.
The very same deal that was, ironically enough, authorized by a US attorney who was appointed by none other than Donald J. Trump himself.
However, as the whining and crying from the Right only increases with each passing moment, one Democratic House Rep. is pointing to a different scandal that, in his opinion, deserves far more attention, scrutiny, and investigation than the Hunter Biden debacle.
Responding to some of the uproar surrounding the controversial plea deal between the president’s son and the US Justice Department, Maryland’s popular Democratic House Rep. Jamie Raskin has this to say:
This development reflects the Justice Department’s continued institutional independence in following the evidence of actual crimes and enforcing the rule of law even in the face of constant criticism and heckling by my GOP colleagues who think that the system of justice should only follow their partisan wishes. Oversight Committee Republicans have advanced debunked conspiracy theories about President Biden and are now, again, wailing about the work of a Trump appointed U.S. Attorney. Meanwhile, our colleagues have refused to investigate Jared Kushner and Donald Trump’s receipt of billions of dollars from autocratic regimes after handing them a string of outrageous policy favors and concessions.”

Donald Trump’s son-in-law has infamously boasted long-standing and highly suspicious ties to Saudi Arabian officials, brokering a notorious investment operation just shortly after departing from his father-in-law’s administration that was funded billions of dollars in support from a Saudi official. The perceived corruption gets worse still when you take into account Donald Trump’s undying support for LIV Golf, a relatively new golf league that is backed by what is most likely the very same Saudi official with ties to Kushner.
