Congresswoman Takes Trump Admin To The Woodshed, Accuses Them Of Starving Blue States On Purpose Amid Crisis: “I Smell A Rat With Orange Hair”

She hit the nail on the head!

Recently, the Trump administration started distributing funds to small businesses as part of their Paycheck Protection Program that was supposed to help save the “little guy” throughout this disastrous pandemic and subsequent economic shutdown. However, unsurprisingly, it didn’t take much time at all for them to be put on blast for the shady way they’ve gone about it.

A Bloomberg report that dropped today claimed, “During the first 10 days of the federal government’s small-business rescue program, the spigot was wide open in Nebraska. Firms there got enough money to cover about three-fourths of the state’s eligible payrolls. It was a different picture in New York and California, where companies received less than a quarter of their share.”

It’s pertinent to note here that Nebraska has not one, but two Republican senators in addition to a Republican governor, while New York and California, on the other hand, have Democratic governors and senators.

“Those findings, based on Evercore ISI estimates of eligible payrolls in each state, show the uneven distribution of the first $248 billion of Small Business Administration coronavirus-relief loans, through April 13,” the Bloomberg report continued.

It really looks as though the Trump administration was heavily favoring states that favor the president when it came to distributing the crucial funds to small business owners in the various states.

And one congresswoman was having absolutely none of it.

Democratic California Representative Jackie Speier posted the Bloomberg report to her Twitter this evening, complete with some thoughts of her own on the situation. And I’ve got to say, I think she and I would be great friends because they mirror my thoughts almost perfectly.

“I’m hard pressed not to think that this is political. Blue states like California got a pathetic number of loans issued. Nebraska got nearly 75% of loans requested. I smell a rat with orange hair,” Speier blistered in her tweet, captioning the report.

Funnily enough, there was a rat at the White House just yesterday.  Frankly, I think she hit the nail on the head.
